Wheat-laden vessel arrives at Karachi Port to meet domestic demand

KARACHI (News Desk): A bulk carrier, MV Great Rainbow, had arrived at Karachi Port carrying 59,132 metric tonnes of wheat to help meet the country’s domestic requirements.

According to Karachi Port Trust (KPT), the vessel, represented by M/s Posidon (Pvt) Ltd, is berthed at Karachi Gateway Terminal Multipurpose Limited (KGTML), East Wharf, where discharge operations are underway.

KPT said the arrival would facilitate the supply of imported wheat to the domestic market in line with explicit government directives.

The port authority highlighted Karachi Port’s role in facilitating essential food imports, ensuring efficient cargo handling and supporting the uninterrupted supply of wheat to meet national demand.

The consignment is part of efforts to ensure the availability of essential food commodities in the country.
