PSX ends bullish, despite burning geopolitics
KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange closed in positive territory on Friday, despite the continuity of escalations in the Middle East.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index rose by 546 points to settle at 176,094. During the session, the index hit an intraday high of 177,108 and a low of 175,935.
Trading remained active with 881 million shares worth Rs 24.96 billion changing hands.
Of the 563 companies traded, 273 recorded gains, 185 posted losses, while the rest remained unchanged.
Market sentiment stayed upbeat amid healthy volumes, with investors focusing on select scrips across key sectors. Analysts noted amid declining oil prices, the day’s advance reflected renewed buying interest, pushing the index to close near its session high.
