Solar Pakistan 2026 Opens in Karachi

KARACHI: A three-day exhibition on solar energy, Solar Pakistan 2026, opened on Friday at the Expo Centre Karachi.

Organized by Fakt Exhibitions, the event will continue till October 11 and features more than 350 companies from 15 countries displaying solar panels, inverters, storage solutions and grid technologies.

Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he said solar energy was contributing to reducing energy costs for households and businesses and stressed the need for collaboration between the private sector and policymakers to expand its adoption.

CEO of Fakt Exhibitions, Saleem Khan Tanoli, said Pakistan was moving towards greater use of renewable energy and that Sindh, with its solar potential and industrial base, could play a leading role in the transition.

The exhibition has drawn policymakers, diplomats, investors, manufacturers and energy professionals. Organizers said the aim is to provide a platform for business-to-business linkages and discussion on alternative energy options.

Pakistan has seen growing interest in solar energy in recent years due to rising electricity costs and power supply challenges. Households, commercial consumers and industrial units are increasingly shifting to rooftop solar solutions, while the government is also encouraging renewable projects to diversify the energy mix.

Exhibitors at the venue showcased high-efficiency panels, lithium battery storage and smart energy management systems.

The organizers said they expect trade inquiries and partnerships to emerge during the three days, at a time when the country is looking for affordable and sustainable energy alternatives to address long-term energy security.
