TikTok Announces New Measures for AI-Generated Content Transparency

KARACHI: TikTok has announced new initiatives to improve transparency and safety around AI-generated content on its platform.

The measures include expanded AI literacy resources, testing of advanced systems to detect AI-generated spam, and joining the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) Steering Committee to promote industry-wide content transparency.

According to the company, the steps are part of its ongoing efforts to promote responsible and transparent use of artificial intelligence while protecting authentic creators and giving users more control over their experience.

Under the new initiatives, TikTok has launched an in-app AI Hub, now available in Pakistan and globally, which appears when users search for AI-related terms. The hub provides guides and educational resources to help users identify AI-generated content and understand its use.

The platform, in partnership with NAMLE and AI expert Henry Ajder, has also released a new guide for responsible use of AI tools.

TikTok said it is testing new systems to identify accounts dedicated to posting AI-generated spam, particularly on topics that could affect public trust and well-being. It has also labeled over three billion videos as AI-generated using a combination of Content Credentials, creator labeling tools and invisible watermarking.

The company said it removed over 86 million fake accounts in the first three months of this year.

TikTok said it has allocated over $4 million to AI literacy programs, which have garnered over 200 million views since November 2025, in collaboration with organizations including NoFiltr and Raspberry Pi Foundation.
