Bears growl in PSX despite positive indicator

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange trades lower on Thursday as fears of an escalation in the Middle East war weigh on investor sentiment, despite positive economic indicators.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index has shed over 1,100 points to trade at 174K level.

Stock market analyst Sheheryar Butt said geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have made investors cautious, prompting selling across key sectors.

Global oil prices also climbed on supply concerns. Brent crude trades at $93.01 per barrel, while WTI was at $85.51 per barrel.

Analysts noted that despite domestic stability, external risks are driving volatility. They expect the market to remain choppy until there is clarity on the situation in the region.
