Karachi Port handles over 229K tonnes of cargo in 24 hours

KARACHI (Staff Report): Karachi Port Trust (KPT) handled 229,281 metric tonnes of cargo during the last 24 hours, reflecting sustained trade activity at the country’s premier port.

According to KPT, the handling from 0700 hours on October 11 to 0700 hours on October 12 comprised 180,310 tonnes of imports and 48,971 tonnes of exports.

The throughput included 122,660 tonnes of containerized cargo and 70,800 tonnes of liquid cargo. During the period, 21 ships remained berthed at the port while four vessels sailed.

The Port is expecting 31 vessel arrivals and four sailings from October 12 to 13, highlighting its vital role in facilitating Pakistan’s trade.
