MoMA digitizes ship, fishing boat registration to cut red tape
KARACHI (News Desk): The Ministry of Maritime Affairs (MoMA) has activated an online registration system for commercial ships and fishing boats, aiming to simplify procedures and improve transparency in maritime administration.
Under the new digital facility, applicants will no longer need to visit government offices to complete vessel registration formalities, saving both time and money.
The ministry said the online system would make registration more accessible and efficient while reducing administrative hurdles for shipowners and fishing boat operators.
The initiative is also expected to enhance transparency in maritime affairs through the digitisation of registration procedures.
MoMA further announced that an online payment facility for registration fees would also be introduced soon, allowing applicants to complete the process digitally.
The ministry said improving public access to government services through digital solutions remained a key government priority.
