IFMP moves HQ to Islamabad to spearhead national financial literacy push

ISLAMABAD: The Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan (IFMP) will relocate its head office to Islamabad to lead a nationwide financial literacy initiative, the Board decided Thursday. A regional office will remain in Karachi.

The Board elected SECP Chairman Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu as Chairperson and inducted SECP Commissioner Muhammad Ali Farid Khawaja as a nominee member.

Dr. Sidhu said with 64–67% of Pakistanis under 30, IFMP will take financial education to schools, universities and professional bodies to grow the investor base from 500,000 to 2.5 million.

IFMP will launch free online courses, CPD and certification programs for capital market and insurance professionals to build skilled human capital.
