Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad Holds Plantation Drive Under Green Legacy Initiative

ISLAMABAD: The Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad organized a plantation drive on Sunday in solidarity with Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Initiative, aimed at planting 800 million seedlings in a single day.

Diplomats, business leaders, media representatives, and civil society members participated in the drive held in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority.

Chargé d’Affaires Melaw Getachew said Ethiopia has planted over 48 billion seedlings under the program and highlighted Addis Ababa’s role as host of COP32.

Zafar Bakhtawari, Chairman of Clean and Green Movement Islamabad, praised the initiative, calling it aligned with Pakistan’s own climate goals and stressing the need for united global action on climate change.
