LPG carrier berths at Port Qasim with 4000 tons of LPG from Bahrain
KARACHI: The LPG carrier Yellow Stone, carrying 4,000 metric tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), has berthed at Port Qasim, marking a crucial addition to the country’s energy supply chain.
According to Port Qasim Authority, the vessel loaded with LPG from Bahrain arrived at Port Qasim on October 24, 2026, and was berthed at 0842 hours on Saturday.
PQA confirmed that the berthing marks the commencement of port-side handling of the consignment in accordance with applicable procedures. The discharge operation will be carried out under safety protocols.
The arrival of the LPG consignment is significant as it comes at a time when LPG prices have surged in the domestic market, with prices crossing Rs 500 per kg in Karachi. The new shipment is expected to help stabilize supply for household and commercial consumers.
Officials said Port Qasim continues to play a vital role in facilitating essential energy imports and ensuring uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to the country.
