PM Shehbaz Sharif welcomes progress on Gaza Peace Plan under Board of Peace
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed the progress made toward disarmament under the Gaza Peace Plan led by the Board of Peace.
In a statement posted on X on Friday, the Prime Minister said Pakistan is hopeful that concrete steps will be taken to implement all commitments under the plan, paving the way for the Palestinian people to realize their right to self-determination.
He commended the mediating countries, the United States, Egypt, Qatar and Turkiye, for their efforts, calling it a significant achievement for the Board of Peace under President Trump’s bold leadership.
The Prime Minister expressed hope that the development would lead to tangible actions on all pledges in the Gaza Peace Plan.
He added that Pakistan also hopes these efforts will result in the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, through a credible, time-bound political process in line with international law and relevant UN resolutions.
